Yeah, for this report, we were just concerned with changes to Google search rather than what standalone LLMs are doing. But I agree - it's worth setting up a channel in Google Analytics to separate out traffic from those, although the numbers so far are very low, even for our biggest clients.
It'd be great to have something like the article insights report Reddit has just made available, so orgs could see how often they're being referenced in LLM results. Fingers crossed…

First thing: you can track LLM referrals. Arrange your tracking metrics to now track and compare the growth of LLM traffic specifically.
AI Overview traffic is still lumped in on GSC, but you can get a grip on other sources like Perplexity and ChatGPT.
